The recent happenings and product releases in the world of beauty include a stunning, six-piece travel make-up brush kit, a fragrance collection inspired by vegetables and breathable sunscreens that feel weightless on the skin.
Read on for these and other trending products and experiences worth checking out and splurging on this month.
Fancl

Fancl’s Sunguard 50+ Protect UV high-efficiency sunscreen (HK$198) is formulated with plant-based ingredients and double hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture and create a dewy, hydrated finish. The product is also gentle enough for those with sensitive skin.
Hermès Beauty

This special edition Les Voyageurs travel make-up brush set from Hermès Beauty is not only designed for mid-day touch-ups, it will also help keep your cosmetics bag effortlessly organised. The curated collection, made for the complexion, eyes and lips, features six brushes with lacquered, three-tone handles. It is presented in a canvas pouch and an orange Hermès box.
House of Amouage

The House of Amouage, one of the world’s best perfume maisons, and Mandarin Oriental have launched an exclusive amenities collection based on Amouage’s Omani roots and the olfactory profiles of two of the hotel chain’s most iconic properties – Hong Kong and Bangkok. The line is named The Whisper of the Fan, which is, of course, channelling MO’s famous fan emblem and comprises six bath and body products infused with spa-like notes of lemongrass, mandarin, coconut, ginger, lotus flower and jasmine.
Jo Malone

Believe it or not, smelling like a vegetable comes with real benefits. The earthy, fresh and sweet scents of a vegetable patch are thought to reduce stress, aid relaxation, and trigger fond memories of nature and childhood. Jo Malone’s quirky Veggies collection leans into just that, drawing inspiration for its fragrances from a traditional British allotment – think carrot, beetroot, butternut squash and green tomato. Choose from three colognes, a hand wash, a candle and a diffuser.
Officine Universelle Buly

Officine Universelle Buly’s Pâte de Savon, essentially a soap paste, is a smarter alternative to traditionally bottled washes and dry bar soaps. It comes in a pocket-sized tube with Buly’s distinct Robinet cap (shaped like antique taps to allow the tubes to stand up on your countertop) and is made with a very low water content, so it is both long-lasting as well as gentle on the skin. It is available in four refreshing scents: Mexican Tuberose, Maltese Iris, Eritrean Myrrh and Madagascar Amber.
Shiseido

Shiseido’s Perfect Sun Protector Lotion Sensitive (HK$350) contains gentle ingredients tailored for children and those with delicate skin. The lotion also offers a protective veil, which actually strengthens when exposed to water or sweat. Ideal for outdoor workouts and pool days.
Supergoop!

Diehard fans of Supergoop! should consider the brand’s newly launched Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40 (HK$340), which is designed to blur pores and smooth the skin’s appearance. It comes in four shades – Sunrise, Untinted, Golden Hour and Sunset – and can be worn alone or as a primer before applying make-up. Available at Sephora.
Bulgari

Bulgari has recently added a new scent to its existing Eau Parfumée collection – the fragrances are centred around uplifting tea notes, each housed in Roman column-inspired bottles. The Eau Parfumée Thé Impérial, which was crafted in 2017 by French perfumer Jacques Cavallier, contains harmonies of Sri Lankan black tea, vibrant Italian citrus and soft musk.
Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong

Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong, which opened last year, has already become a popular destination thanks to its great location and buzzy spots such as Jija, by award-winning chef Vicky Lau, and Swim Club, its rooftop poolside bar.
Wellness lovers now also have a reason to check out the property: Angsana Spa Kimpton. The sister brand of luxury hospitality chain Banyan Tree Spa, Angsana is known for its holistic approach, with a focus on Eastern therapies. The best introduction to the spa is the signature Bamboo Massage, performed with a bamboo stick to promote circulation and release tension. The massage is part of the very indulgent Harmony Journey, a 90-minute treatment that also features an herbal foot soak. To complete the pampering experience, add a 30-minute Orange Milk Bath packed with natural nutrients, and end with light refreshments at Birdsong, the lobby cafe and bar.
