Mid-century modern design meets Eastern thinking in a future-proofed Hong Kong home

Customers have multiple ways to broadcast satisfaction with service these days, whether it be through website reviews, social media recommendations or word-of- mouth referrals.
Vanny Luk Wing-sang took an entirely different approach to endorsement, however. Soon after moving into the 1,296 sq ft (120 square metre), two-bedroom apartment in Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island that Hong Kong-based Hintegro redesigned last year for her and husband Tommy Yeung King-leong, who is in the hotel industry, she plumped for a job at the interior design studio.
“It’s quite an interesting relationship,” says Hintegro founder Keith Chan Shing-hin, musing about how Luk is now staff and he her boss, although she continues to be a client.
Smiling about the unconventional set-up, the marketing executive explains that her immediate family also played important roles in the refurbishment of her first marital home.
