This summer, Hong Kong made a big step towards creating more inclusive spaces for our furry companions.
As of July 9, the city removed the ban on dogs within licensed food premises, and pet owners across the city can enjoy meals and experiences with their four-legged friends.
To celebrate the occasion, we compiled a list of some notable pet-friendly establishments in the city to bring your best furry friend.
1. Fleur

Fleur, a restaurant located in The Mills in Tsuen Wan, is popular for its flower-themed aesthetic and brunch and afternoon tea menus. With a focus on using edible flowers in its dishes, Fleur creates a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere for humans and animals alike.
Fleur cares deeply about welcoming pets. Its Instagram is heavily themed towards its “Fleury Friends”, with highlights of pets happily chowing down on a “Puppy Lover” menu that features chicken breast, banana bread, and salmon and broccoli agar cake.

2. Slow Walker
Slow Walker can now officially welcome pets and their owners, and is celebrating by offering a free freeze-dried tiger prawn treat upon purchase of any dried fish dog snacks in store.

The Instagram page is full of happy pets sitting with their owners at the cafe “managed” by a Samoyed called Simba. If you are looking for a place to enjoy quality coffee and pet-friendly hospitality, Slow Walker may be the place for you.

3. Ztoryhome
Art, books and coffee converge in a cafe-and-gallery setting at Ztoryhome. The two-storey space is designed to be healing, and it is now extending those warm vibes to dogs and owners alike.

The business, in Sai Ying Pun, welcomes dogs via reservations and walk-ins. On July 25, it will host a Pet-Friendly Charity Day featuring dogs for adoption, pet care sharing sessions and postcards.

4. Bakehouse
Created by Gregoire Michaud, this Hong Kong bakery is famous for its handcrafted sourdough, egg tarts and pastries in the style of European artisanal neighbourhood cafes. The bakery has expanded to multiple locations across Hong Kong since its establishment.

As of now, dogs are welcome to join their parents inside Bakehouse in The Peak Tower at The Peak, one of the brand’s newest locations. Pets and their owners can enjoy a morning walk up one of the many hiking trails leading up and around Victoria Peak, before heading to the bakery to relax and refuel.

5. Sip Song
Sip Song, a casual Thai eatery at Repulse Bay, is a place where pets can rest alongside their owners before or after playing in the sand and sea.

The restaurant features flavourful cuisine such as the Royal Thai Sharing Set Menu – available until July 31 – and cocktails, which guests can enjoy while looking out over the ocean. The interior of the restaurant is bright, with windows, hanging plants and art lining the walls.

6. The Glasshall Limited
Most couples will want to invite as many family members as possible to their wedding. The Glasshall Limited’s wedding venues are now officially pet-friendly, allowing those who count their furry friends as family to include them in the celebrations.
The company has three different venues, each offering a different experience. The Glam, in Tsim Sha Tsui, has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city and Victoria Harbour. The Glasshall, in Kowloon Bay, provides florals, huge windows and a view of the garden, while 33 Glasserie, also in Kowloon Bay, has two garden areas.

7. Bonza! by Waffling Beans

Bonza! by Waffling Beans is another option for pets and their owners to relax together. The all-day brunch and coffee restaurant is the sister cafe to Waffling Beans in Kennedy Town. It welcomes furry friends to join their humans in the shop, and there is also a colourful pet-themed mural outside for that essential Instagram moment.

8. Casa Cucina

Another restaurant that welcomes pets is Casa Cucina, a Venetian-inspired cicchetti bar in Causeway Bay. If you are looking for a nice meal where your pets can relax alongside you, Casa Cucina has an outdoor terrace and an indoor pet-designated zone to meet your needs.

9. Call Me Al

Call Me Al has long been a place where dogs are loved. It has hosted dog-themed brunches and worked with dog charities for community events. Now, pups can officially be welcomed inside. It is a place where people can savour a nice cocktail with their loyal pooch in tow, who can enjoy the custom water bowls and dog treats on offer.
