Ahead of the festive season, beauty brands are unveiling their holiday sets and limited edition goodies. While many of them look great, they aren’t always as good a bargain as they seem. Here are our pick of the sets out there that are worth your money.
1. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – Ghost (HK$710)
It’s a highly anticipated palette that rolls around every Christmas, and this year’s six-shade set doesn’t fail to disappoint. Along with its three bestselling highlighters, the palette has three new and exclusive bronzer and blush shades.
It’s still a steep price tag but, considering a three-shade palette from Hourglass normally retails for HK$570 and this powder-smooth formula lasts forever, this is a great investment for any vanity.

2. Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse Mini Gloss Bomb Collection (HK$398)
For a touch of effortless glam, you can’t go wrong with Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, and this limited edition collection is the bomb. Featuring five ultra-glossy, fantastically shimmery, and uber-hydrating Gloss Bomb lip glosses, this holiday bundle includes the well-loved Fu$$y as well as four new shades. Whether you wear them alone or as a topper, this set is all you need to upgrade your make-up look for any upcoming parties.

3. Nars Studio 54 Brush Set (HK$800)
Make-up brushes are always a worthy investment, as the quality of your brushes can make or break a look.
The holiday season is a great time to stock up on brushes because, while they tend to be smaller, the quality is often the same as regular permanent collection brushes – at a lower price point. This fabulous brush set from Nars has some basic ones that should be in everyone’s collection and are really all you need to create any look.

If you’re fairly new to skincare and beauty and not sure what you like yet, the advent calendar by Sephora Hong Kong is perfect for you. From face masks to bath bombs, and eyeliners to lip glosses, everything is geared towards someone who’s dipping their un-manicured toes in the water.
Full of favourite basics to classic shades, this set will help you figure out what you like, without having to spend a lot on full-size products you’ll probably never get through.

6. Fresh Loves Sugarfina® Mini Trunk (HK$1,800)
